Objectives:
• To have fun
• To learn the rudimentary skills and tactics of the game as well as a range of fundamental movement skills [eg. hitting, catching, throwing, stopping, running, balance and coordination]
• To ease their transition to hardball cricket

Outcomes:
To provide participants with opportunities:
• To have fun and enjoy the experience
• To improve their fundamental skills and ability to compete in the game
• To encourage their continued participation in the game

Resources:
To support ‘Quikhit’ New Zealand Cricket has devised a resource that outlines the objectives, required equipment and rules for this modified format of the game. It also includes a special scoresheet so that team scores can be recorded.

The resource is available from New Zealand Cricket at email info@nzcricket.org.nz or through the Community Cricket Coordinator in each local cricket association.

New Zealand Cricket has arranged special ‘team kits’ of equipment for the girls-only Quikhit programme. The cost is around $400 per kit. They can be ordered from New Zealand Cricket at email info@nzcricket.org.nz
