Enrol now for July's Fast Bowling Clinic

 

The off season is a great time to improve your bowling and start next season with extra pace and zip!

The Wellington School of Cricket is excited to announce that recent BLACKCAPS fast bowling Coach ShaneJurgensen will be conducting an intensive three-day Fast Bowling Clinic at Westpac indoor stadium at the end of July. Places are limited so enrol now.

Designed for fast and swing bowlers, the clinic is an ideal way to increase your skills and learn more about the art of fast bowling.

This intensive, structured clinic focuses on developing the correct technique to optimise performance and prevent injury.

The clinic will be held on the 25, 26 and 27 July 2011 and there are two times to choose from - either between 9.00am -11:00am or 11.30am – 1.30pm.

Aspiring speedsters will have the opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s finest pace bowling coaches Shane Jurgenson.

Shane Jurgenson is a former Australian First Class cricketer, and the first player to take 10 wickets in a Sheffield Shield Final and Tasmania’s Cricketer of the Year in 2001/02. A former Australian age-grade cricketer, he also took over 700 grade wickets in a 15-season playing career. He is a recently contracted New Zealand Cricket High Performance coach and was the BLACKCAPS bowling coach between December 2008 and December 2010. Over the two years he was with the New Zealand team the BLACKCAPS held the lowest RPO for ODI cricket and had four bowlers in the top ten rankings of ODI Cricket.

 

Dates:  25, 26 and 27 July 2011

Times: Two Clinics. Choose from either 9.00am – 11.00am or 11.30am – 1.30pm

Small group sessions only: Eight players per group - please note that places are strictly limited.

Each day will cover:

  • Warm ups for bowlers
  • Core stability
  • Bowling technique assessment on video
  • Drills to help enhance technique
  • Tactically awareness/assess batsman
  • New deliveries to improve number of weapons
  • Different skills for two-day down to one-day and Twenty/20 cricket
  • Executing against batsman both right and left hand
  • Each day will have a theme.

Venue: Westpac Indoor Stadium

Price: $200 + gst
